emotions. I think the songs reflect the mental condi- tion of our nation and they reveal a great number of unhappy and discontented people.
The pursuit of happiness has lead man out among the stars where he is blindly following one bright spot after another while he has completely lost track of the fact that the only source of happiness lies within him- self. But so thoroughly has man mislead himself that now the whole society frowns upon the few who have found the pleasures which are natural to them. Men's lack of understanding has made them intolerant and they do not feel for one another. Where is the man to whom you can say, "my wife's perfume was so pleasant that I am using it too?" How many men believe that the real virtue of manhood is gentleness and that to love and adorn ourselves with soft beautiful clothing does not make one less a man. To know the gentle caress of nylon stockings or the thrill of wearing panties and then deny ourselves the pleasures of doing so would only make one a fool. In fact it would be as silly as for a man to like a chicken dinner and refrain from eating it because women ate it too. The sort of superstition that forbids men to enjoy fine things because women enjoy them cer- tainly contradicts our society's claim that people have freedom of choice.
Except for the sex organs men and women do not differ in their makeup either physically or mentally. Therefore the pleasures of one would also come natural to the other. Does not the woman go hunting and fishing with the man and compete with him in sports or on the job in factories and sometimes wear his clothes? What then could be more natural than that they find relaxation and pleasure in the same things? As a person is neither all male or all female but some of each, there is for the one who is in- telligent enough to see it a double measure of pleasure. If course clothing and rough manners fit one side of our nature we should feel equally at home by pleasing the other side. You are fortunate if you are able to wear all the beautiful, sweet smelling luxuries of feminine clothing. I wish you well and much pleasure.
